Religious Education

Our children enjoy learning about different religions. They love to learn about people; and we think it is very important that they learn what different people think and believe. As a Church of England school, two-thirds of our curriculum is about Christianity; we also include the major world religions, with a special emphasis on religious beliefs represented in the school. We encourage children to look for similarities as well as differences, and in lessons we see children listening and responding with great respect to views and beliefs different from their own.

We aim to make our RE lessons experiential, creative and reflective. For example, sometimes children can choose to respond to a religious story in different creative ways (Godly Play); sometimes children may make and try food associated with a religious festival; sometimes there will be debate and discussion.
