Collective worship is an important part of our daily life, giving children a time to reflect and learn, to thank and to celebrate, and to build a sense of togetherness. There are daily opportunities for prayer in class, and every class has a reflection corner. Twice a year, we transform our Music Room into a Prayer Space, with optional activities for all children from Reception upwards (as well as staff, parents and governors) to engage in as they wish. We aim to make this space accessible and rewarding for children or all faiths or none.

Our school prayer asks God to help us in our day to day relationships and attitudes:

Lord of the loving heart, may ours be loving too.

Lord of the gentle hands, may ours be gentle too.

Lord of the willing feet, may ours be willing too.

So may we grow more like you, in all we say and do.

Generations of children at St Clement and St James have been saying this prayer – no one remembers who wrote it! It is on display in our entrance area.
